OP.GG, one of the most popular League of Legends stats sites, has partnered with LCK as a sponsor for the 2022 Summer Split.

This is the second major announcement made by the South Korean league in the last several hours. The LCK also revealed today that the English stream of the 2022 LCK Summer Split will be broadcast on YouTube as well as Twitch.

This isn’t the first big move from the League stat site in recent times either. On June 3, OP.GG acquired OGN (formerly Ongamenet)—the legacy esports broadcaster that was previously run by TV group CJ ENM.

A week prior to that, OP.GG acquired OGT as well, which it described as the biggest “esports learning platform in Korea” in a post on Linkedin. These recent acquisitions show how invested OP.GG seems to be in the esports scene in the country.

OP.GG is one of the biggest sites dedicated to League stats. Created in 2012, it has since grown into a statistic goliath. Every month, 55 million users visit the website, according to Naver.

LCK, on the other hand, is the home to some of the best League teams from South Korea, including Spring Split champions T1. Up until the end of 2018, the competition was organized byOngamenet before it was handed over to KeSPA and Riot Games.
